Xiao Chai Hu Tang was originally created over 2,000 years ago by the revered doctor Zhang Zhong Jing. It is traditionally prescribed for Shao Yang syndrome, which is when a pathogen gets into your body and you are unable to fully clear it. This is characterized by alternating fever and chills, a bitter taste in the mouth, dizziness, irritability, possibly a sensation of fullness in the chest and hypochondria (with difficulty taking full breaths), heartburn, nausea and vomiting, or being downcast with no desire to eat. It can also be used to help clear pent up emotions. This formula harmonizes and helps your body to vent out pathogens that are difficult to clear.
